“THE EXPRESSIVE BREADTH AND IMMEDIACY OF MIDDLETON’S PIANO PLAYING IS EXCEPTIONAL”

Joseph is one of Britain’s leading pedagogues and is in demand worldwide as piano teacher and vocal coach. He is committed to supporting a new generation of performers and has given masterclasses at Toronto Summer Music, DeSingel Antwerp, Ravinia Festival Chicago, La Monnaie Brussels, Britten-Pears Aldeburgh, Samling, Royal Opera House Jette Parker, Dutch National Opera Studio, ENO Harewood and the Royal College of Music.

Joseph is a Professor of Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music and also helps direct the RAM Song Circle. He also founded and is Director of Cambridge University’s Lieder Scheme, recently being made a Bye-Fellow of Pembroke College by Lord Chris Smith. Past students of his have won awards at the Kathleen Ferrier, Royal Over-Seas League, Wigmore Hall Song, London Handel and Stuttgart Wolf Competitions as well as being selected as BBC New Generation Artists.
